One platform basis, a family of learning products
Next Learning Valley brings instructional expertise, domain knowledge and product vision. In the NLV Suite, NLV leads product vision, learning design and customer value. HOIST IT designs and builds the shared platform basis that keeps those products dependable as the family grows.
NLV is developing four connected products: NLV Design, NLV Support, NLV Data and NLV Perform.
NLV Design helps learning and development teams turn existing organisational knowledge into structured learning content. AI accelerates the first draft and suggests improvements. Instructional designers and subject-matter experts review, edit and approve the material before it is built or published. The final decisions about relevance, pedagogy and quality remain with people.
NLV Data brings learning data together as xAPI statements. This creates a basis for analytics and reporting on learning activity, progress and behaviour. Access is federated through OIDC, and every uploaded attachment is scanned for malware.
NLV Support provides contextual guidance in the flow of work. NLV Perform connects learning with skills and performance in practice. The shared platform basis supports all four products, including the parts of the suite still being developed.
The platform underneath
A product suite should not need a new infrastructure stack for every product. Each NLV service ships as a container. Pulumi defines the infrastructure as code. Dagger runs the delivery pipelines wherever containers run, while OpenTelemetry collects telemetry across the services. PostgreSQL provides shared data services underneath the suite.
That foundation runs in NLV’s managed-cloud environment today. It gives the product team room to move quickly without designing the suite around one provider. Containers, open components and infrastructure as code keep the deployment portable as the products grow.
One platform basis, two deployment strategies
The NLV Suite and AMALT use a common platform basis in two different operating contexts. For NLV, managed cloud supports rapid product development and iteration. For AMALT, the basis is being developed for an air-gapped, on-premises deployment inside a defence data centre.
The applications and operating constraints differ. Both contexts require mature, governed analytics on a foundation that can be inspected and controlled. The NLV deployment is running today; the AMALT deployment profile is still being developed and tested.
